DANIEL SHULMAN-MEANS
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I was born and raised
in San Francisco, CA and I am currently a senior in High School. I have been
creating abstract images using a Windows PC and Adobe PhotoShop for about two years.
I usually create an image completely from scratch, but I have recently
experimented with using certain pictures (such as photos of the human brain) as
an opening outline and texture to my work. I refer to my abstract style as
“Digital Organics” because even though my images are usually completely
computerized, they have an organic look and feel that can occasionally be
mistaken for things that might be found under a microscope or in space.
Inspirations include Trent Reznor,
H.R. Giger, and David Lynch (just to name a few).
